What is the difference between a psychic and a medium?
Psychic refers to someone able to receive information through extra sensory perception. Psychic ability is often referred to as our “sixth sense”.
Medium is a psychic who is able to communicate and interface with spirits in other dimensions. Every medium is a psychic but not all psychics are mediums.
What senses do psychics and mediums use to give a reading?
Clairvoyance (Seeing) is French with clair meaning "clear" and voyance meaning "vision" is used to refer to the ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses. This is someone who see’s in their mind’s eye.
Clairsentience (Feeling) is a form of extra sensory perception where a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of emphatic feelings and emotions.
Clairaudience (Hearing) is essentially the ability to hear in a paranormal manner. Clairaudience may refer not to actual perception of sound, but may instead indicate impressions of the "inner mental ear" similar to the way many people think words without having auditory impressions.
Claircognizance (Knowing) is a form of extra sensory perception where a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of intrinsic knowledge. It is the ability to know something without a physical explanation why you know it.
Clairtangency (Clear Touching) to handle an object or touch an area and perceive through the palms of your hands information about the article or its owner or history. More commonly known as psychometry.
Clairgustance (Clear Tasting) extra sensory perception that allegedly allows you to taste a substance without putting anything in your mouth. Those who possess this ability are able to perceive psychic knowledge through taste.
Clairscent (Clear Smelling) where a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of smelling.
